The British High Commission has today announced the launch of a pilot to include Tier 4 student applications to be able to avail the use of the Priority Visa service for UK visa applicants. In addition to this there will be no requirement for a Priority Visa applicant to demonstrate they have held previous UK, USA or Schengen travel to qualify for this service.

This is a further extension of the Priority Visa services the British High Commission offer to visa applicants to the UK. The service will be piloted in Bangalore and will be available for those applicants who apply at our visa application centre in Bangalore from 11 August 2014. If this pilot proves to be successful we will expand this service to the rest of South India.

Priority Visas are a user-pay service which enables customers to experience a faster processing service of their applications; where our customer service agreement is to aim to process these applications within 5 working days.
This service will not be available to applicants who want to apply under the Settlement route.

Further Information:
1. The Priority Visa service is an optional service and incurs an additional fee.
2. The fee for the Priority Visa service is Rs10500 including taxes (local currency equivalent as per the Consular Exchange rate) plus the standard fee for the type of visa being applied for.
3. Further information about the fees, eligibility criteria and how to schedule an appointment are available at http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/India/user_pay_services.html
4. Applicants who have already lodged an application with the British High Commission in Chennai before 11 August will not be able to access this service.
