National level engineering entrance exams like the AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) and IIT JEE (Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination) are the most popular engineering entrance exams in India. Besides, engineering entrance tests are held every year by various states and universities for admission to BE (Bachelor of engineering), B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) and B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) courses.

All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is held every year for candidates who seek admission to Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Pharmacy degree courses in various engineering colleges and institutes in the country. The entrance exam is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in compliance with the directives of the Government of India (GOI).A centralized counselling system is provided for filling up the available seats all over India. This counselling is available only for the meritorious candidates of All India Engineering Entrance Examination ( AIEEE ).

The Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) is an annual engineering entrance examination conducted by Indian Institute of Technology. About 15 engineering institutes in India solely depend on JEE scores for admission to their undergraduate programs.
