Huawei Maitree Scholarship Program 2012 is open
Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has announced ‘Maitree Scholarship Program 2012’ marking the second successful year of its education based CSR initiative in India. Open to aspiring Indian students who have already secured admission to institutions of higher education in China, the Maitree Scholarships aim to build a platform for exchange of ideas between the two nations, fostering a closer understanding of each others’ culture and society.
Since its inception in 2011, the scholarship program has significantly helped in promoting scientific and academic aptitude of students & in the process also expanded the career opportunities available to Indian students. In line with the previous year’s commitment, Huawei has slated out 10 scholarships of up to 10,000 USD this year for each of selected students who are pursuing academic courses in China. The scholarship program enables aspiring Indian students to opt for various streams, preferably in the emerging areas of science & technology, culture, social studies and development related programs in Chinese Universities. The scholarship, which covers the student’s tuition fee and living expenses for the duration of his or her study in China, is up to an amount of 10,000 USD. Both Indian and Chinese students have immensely benefitted from each others’ interests, knowledge and expertise through this education program that is committed to nurture Indian talent across boundaries.
